MY recommends you balance the load of big heavy tires. Samurai t-cases have a idler gear drive not a chain drive so 2 wheel drive reduction is the biggest benefit of doing the t-case gear alone. However, to do the job correctly for larger than 30” tires re-gearing the axles also is the smart move for strength and durability.
